This year, Tap 2 Pointe Dance Company celebrates ten years of dancing, growing, and building something truly special across Motherwell, Baillieston and East Kilbride.
Reaching this milestone has brought with it a lot of reflection. Not just on where we are now, but on where it all began, especially when it comes to our annual shows.
Where It All Began
Our first performances were modest but filled with excitement and promise. Initially, our dancers participated directly after the babyballet show, where Tap 2 Pointe had a small segment at the end. This brief moment on stage gave our pupils a chance to showcase their ballet skills and the hard work they had put in.
Though the group was small, the pride on the dancers’ faces and the enthusiastic support from their families planted a seed for something greater. Even then, the confidence and joy radiating from the stage were unmistakable. That spark was the foundation of what Tap 2 Pointe would become.
Taking the Leap
As the years passed, the school grew in both size and ambition. It became clear that this part of the show deserved its own spotlight. We made the bold decision to create the first full Tap 2 Pointe Dance Company production.
This step brought new challenges: more planning, more responsibility, and a bigger vision. But it also gave our dancers a unique opportunity to be part of a full production. They rehearsed with purpose, worked towards a shared goal, and experienced the thrill of performing on a stage dedicated entirely to their art.
This change transformed our company. It gave every dancer a stronger sense of belonging and pride, and it deepened the connection between the company and its community.

Growing Into Something Bigger
Each year, more dancers joined Tap 2 Pointe, bringing even more energy and talent. Our shows expanded with new routines, costumes, and rehearsals. The backstage buzz of nervous excitement became a familiar feeling for everyone involved.
We saw dancers develop not only their skills but also their confidence and teamwork. Parents, friends, and supporters became part of the journey, cheering on every step and leap.
Our shows became more than performances; they became celebrations of growth, friendship, and achievement.

The Diamond Era: Reflecting on Ten Years
Reaching ten years is a moment to celebrate and reflect. We call this our Diamond Era, symbolizing strength, brilliance, and lasting value. Over the decade, Tap 2 Pointe has become a place where dancers of all ages and abilities find a home.
Our shows now feature a wide range of styles and skill levels, showcasing the diversity and talent within our company. Each performance tells a story of hard work, creativity, and community spirit.
This milestone reminds us that dance is more than movement; it is a way to build confidence, make friends, and express joy.
What the Future Holds
As we celebrate ten years of Tap 2 Pointe Dance Company, we are also looking forward.
Tap 2 Pointe Theatre Company has now launched, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our school.
While it is still in its early stages, it opens the door to even more opportunities for our students to grow, perform, and develop their confidence in new ways.
If the last ten years have shown us anything, it is how powerful those first small steps can be.
So the question is, where will the next ten years take us?
Be Part of the Journey
Whether you are coming along to watch this year’s show, or thinking about enrolling your child in dance classes in Motherwell, Baillieston or East Kilbride, you are becoming part of that story too.
Our classes welcome children from 6 months to 18 years, each one starting their own journey in their own way.
Some will take their very first steps in the studio. Others will one day stand in the wings, waiting for the music to begin.
And it all starts with that first class.
Celebrating Together
To everyone who has been part of Tap 2 Pointe over the past ten years, thank you.
From those early performances as a small addition to a larger show, to a full theatre production with 100 dancers, this journey has been shaped by every dancer, every family, and every moment along the way.
And as we step into our Diamond Era, we are more excited than ever for what comes next.
